Kayak Campbell/Sand Lake, Anchorage

What: Two great lakes in the south side of Anchorage with beautiful views while kayaking around.

When to go: Ideally accessed in the summer months between May and October. Can be a good spot for ice fishing in the winter time.

How to get there: Both lakes allow for public access; however, the access points are not obvious. The best spot to access sand lake is from here (https://goo.gl/maps/y6s7PMCY3vzoMciz9). Campbell lake has two access spots but both spots are somewhat hard to spot.

Tips:

• There can be motorized boats on the lakes, and even float planes on campbell lake, so stay close to the shoreline and be extra careful.
• A fun add on is to kayak down campbell creek into campbell lake, and then get out at one of the public access spots.
