What: Fairbanks is one of the best places to go snowmachining in Alaska. There are several guides that offer tours ranging from a quick 30 minute tour to multi night adventures.

When to go: Ideally accessed between December and April while there is a good layer of snow.

Tips:

• Some operators offer midnight snowmachine tours where you’ll be able to enjoy snowmachining under the northern lights if they’re out. The overnight tours are also well worth checking out – these will typically take you to a backcountry lodge where meals and lodging will be provided prior to returning the next morning.
