Tips:

  • You can access the chase trail by heading north from town parallel to the train tracks. You will eventually come to a bridge that crossess the river – make sure your ATV is less than 48 inches to cross. Once you cross, you can ride as far as you want – the trail stays pretty flat for several miles but then eventually starts to climb. The trail starts to get signficiantly muddy at this point, so go as far as you’re comfortable with.
  • There is an old abandoned house along the trail that can be fun to check out. If you don’t have your own ATV, there are companies in downtown talkeetna that offer ATV tours to explore this trail.
  • On your way back, take a detour to the beach by the river and play around in the sand.
