Tips:

  • You are likely to see both bikes and ATVs out here. Many bikers enjoy this trail since it is one of the first ones to melt before the great trails in Anchorage melt. As you ride along the trail, you will sometimes see various forks off the main trail to explore. Keep going on the main trail as far as you’d like, and use some of the pullouts to the south side to get into an opening with great views of the surrounding knik valley.
  • The start of the trailhead can be hard to find on google maps. Follow the link above or look up the “Kenni and Patti barber shooting range” and keep driving past it to get to the trailhead.
