Park at the crescent creek trailhead parking lot and take the gravel road past the parking lot on your bike.

Tips:

  • This trail is not very popular and you will likely have it all to yourself. There are certainly better mountain biking trails in the kenai peninsula such as crescent lake or johnson pass, but tern lake is certainly a much quicker and easier ride. You will enjoy some great views along the way with a beautiful pay off at Tern lake. The trail is plenty wide and does not suffer from overgrowth issues similar to other kenai trails. The trail does get very muddy and has a few small creek crossings.
